Educational Programs Offered 

Longacre Stables offers a variety of educational programs tailored to fit the needs of students and families. Below is an overview of our most popular options. 

Hilander ​Pony Club

USPC is an national educational program focused on both mounted and unmounted horsemanship skills. Members must have access to a horse. Partial cost of lessons included in annual riding fees. 

Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA)

IEA membership is open to all students in grades 4-12. No rider needs to own a horse. Riders compete in dressage and/or hunt seat disciplines. 

Rails 'n Tails 4-H Club

Education and Competitions; Optional participation in Fairs, local shows, Record Books, Public Speaking, Quiz and Horse Judging. Horse care required for Fair. Horseless Horse program also available. Meets Unmounted 1-2x/mo.

Rates: Annual registration $25/yr; Club shirt; Minimal entry fees.  

Longview Parks & Recreation

Three 1 hr session course is offered quarterly for approx $75. Learn beginning to intermediate horsemanship skills. Course can be repeated as many times as you like. Sign up online through Longview Parks and Rec. 

Lessons/Private or Group

Private or class lessons. Beginner to Advance level offered. Schedule by arrangement

Half-Lease Horse

Half-Lease one of LS School horses. Allows riding practice between lessons. Must be concurrently in a lesson/educational program at the stables. Horse must stay on premises. All feed and maintenance will be provided by owner. LS has first priority of using horse for lessons, etc. Contract required. 

Volunteer / Learn as you Go / Working Student:

Volunteers help maintain horses throughout the year for programs. Includes caring for horse stalls, grooming, feeding, medicating, working with all types of horses and managing barn.
